Nepal extends suspension of International flights till May 31

Nepal has decided to extension the suspension of international flights till May 31, which was first imposed on May 3.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) issuing a notice for all the airlines on Tuesday.

“The suspension period of international scheduled flights (except two flights a week between Kathmandu and New Delhi under Air Travel Bubble Arrangement), is extended till May 31 midnight,”

.The government had earlier decided to ban scheduled flights until mid-April to control the coronavirus pandemic.

In the meantime, airlines will be allowed to operate medical, chartered, and cargo flights.

After the extension of international flights, Nepalis going for foreignemployment and returning from there will be directly affected. The travel of foreign tourists involved in mountaineering in Nepal will also be affected. Kathmandu’s lockdown has been extended till May 27
