This short period of Ghandruk trek provides a good entry into trekking whilst also providing wonderful views of both near the sacred mountain Macchapuchre (Fishtail) and Annapurna South. Our destination is the very beautiful flower village of Ghandruk, home to the project area of Annapurna Conservation. Here you have the chance to visit the project to discover first-hand the conservation work in progress.
Refreshing three days allowing a glimpse of mountain life. Maximum altitude 2600 m Ghandrung a huge Gurung village at 1940 meters is the second largest Gurung village in Nepal and is a confused collection of near-spaced houses with slate roofs. It is carefully terraced fields upstream and downstream of the city. It is wonderfully easy to get lost in the network of narrow streets, while trying to trek through the village. There is a large factory of crafts at the top of Ghandrung. The views of Annapurna South from here are out standing. Machhapuchhare saw here, in appearance fishtail, peeps on a wooded ridge.
