Nearly 200 climbers get permission to climb Mount Everest spring season

Over 200 climbers from 20 different climbing organizations have so far been granted permission to ascend Mount Everest this spring.

According to Bigyan Koirala, an official with the Department of Tourism’s Mountaineering Branch, a total of 197 climbers, including 31 women and 166 men, in 20 climbing groups, have obtained permission to climb Mount Everest. This season, a large number of foreign climbers are visiting Mount Everest.

According to the details of Mountaineering Branch, more than 460 climbers from 55 climbing groups have taken permission to climb various mountains including Everest. Almost 28 crores of royalty has been collected from mountain climbing.

Mohan Lamsal, General Secretary of the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA), believes that this season will be very encouraging for climbing Mount Everest. Seeing the interest of foreigners in climbing Mount Everest is encouraging,’ he said. Mountain climbing is expected to be better than it was before the covid-19 pandemic.
