Government prepares to open Pashupati and Lumbini areas to public

Pilgrimage Tour in Nepal

The government is preparing to open the Pashupati and Lumbini areas to the public. The Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation have decided to take the proposal to the Corona Crisis Management Center (CCMC) by making a necessary protocol for that.

Following the pandemic of the coronavirus, the government had imposed restrictions on the public for visiting these two religious destinations. However, there is pressure from the general public to open Pashupati and Lumbini after the resumption of public transportation.   At present, the general public is not allowed to enter both destinations.

Only regular religious rituals are being performed inside the temple, and Ministry is also preparing to open museums. A protocol will also be prepared for that. The decision was taken at a meeting of a high-level group held at the Ministry of Tourism
